State Abortion Rights Take Center Stage

The Abortion Debate begins in the state legislature.

The Roe Act, a measure sponsored by Worcester State Senator Harriett Chandler that would legalize abortions after 24 weeks in cases of fatal fetal abnormalities.

The bill would eliminate parental consent for anyone under the age of 18 and would allow abortions after 24 weeks if a doctor determined that the mother’s life or mental health were in jeopardy.

The Attorney General will testify in favor of the bill.
