The case involving Kevin Santos in New York has Springfield Police seething.
Santos is the Springfield charged with attempted murder in connection to a traffic stop this week in Westchester County New York.
Santos was out on bail in a Springfield case involving possession of an illegal firearm.
Commissioner Cheryl Clapprood says that when someone is arrested with an illegal firearm they should not be right back out on the streets.
She says the department is thinking about the injured New York Officer.
