A proposed marijuana cultivation center at the former Macy's in the Eastfield Mall is receiving approval from the Springfield Planning Board.
The zone change was approved by a four-to-three vote on Wednesday.
The vote came despite the recommendation against the zoning change by the city planning department.
The matter now goes to the City Council.
It is unclear when they will take up the issue.
