Election reminders won't be mailed out in Springfield even though the City Council overrode a mayoral veto of an ordinance authorizing the action.
The Springfield election commissioner said on Tuesday that her office doesn't have the money in the budget to mail the reminders for the 2019 elections.
Mayor Domenic Sarno said no supplemental funding will be offered.
It is unclear what the city council will do to follow through on the just passed mandate.
