(24/7/ NewsSource) -- A legislative committee is considering a proposal that would make community college available for free for more state residents.
The proposal sponsored by Boston Representative Chynah Tyler would waive tuition for low and moderate income students.
The city of Boston has offered a similar program since 2016, which is reportedly a big success.
Boston Mayor Marty Walsh testified on the bill with Tyler before the Joint Committee on Higher Education yesterday.
