Service restoration and cleanup efforts are continuing after one tornado touched down in Barnstable and Yarmouth and a second in Harwich on Tuesday.
As of this morning at 6:00, Eversource had whittled down the number of customers without electricity from fifty-thousand to over three-thousand.
The National Weather Service says at least 150 hardwood trees were either uprooted or snapped in Harwich, where a state of emergency has been declared, while the first twister also caused significant damage just southwest of Dennis-Yarmouth Regional High School.
Governor Charlie Baker, speaking in Harwich yesterday, said it is going to take several days to fully assess how much debris was created and damage was caused by the storm.
The Governor says some of the damage has been so intense that they have been unable to get to it, except through drones.
