Attorney: Suit Against Clients Should Be Thrown Out

A Springfield police officer is trying to get a case against him thrown out.

Officer Jameson Williams and owner of Nathan Bill's Bar and Restaurant John Sullivan are accused of conspiring to attack four black men after a barroom argument in 2015.

Up to 16 people, including 14 current and former Springfield officers, have been charged with either committing the alleged assault or lying to cover it up.

In court today, an attorney for officer Williams and Sullivan argued his clients should never have been indicted due to lack of evidence against them.
