At least for now, Springfield's Our Lady of the Rosary Church will remain open.
Bishop Mitchel Rozanski had ordered the church to be closed however parishioners had appealed to The Vatican.
Last week officials had agreed to the appeal and will keep the facility open.
Parishioners are hoping that the facility will remain open as a church.
However, they do say that if it can't remain a church than it should remain open for private prayer.
