Triple E Hits State

More cases of mosquitoes carrying the dangerous Eastern equine encephalitis are being reported in Falmouth.

After a single sample tested positive on July 30th, the Cape Cod Mosquito Project says there have been four more in traps near Falmouth Town Hall and a cedar swamp near Woods Hole.

In Central Massachusetts, East Brookfield has been named as one community with at least one case.

No community in the state is reporting any human cases.

Western Mass seems to be free for now of any cases of Triple E.

However, officials are also suggesting that you stay inside around dusk and dawn if you can. That is high traffic times for the mosquitoes.

In the alternative, sprays with DEET and long sleeves are advised.
