MGM Sues Government Over Connecticut Monopoly

MGM Resorts is suing the U.S. Interior Department over a decision that paves the way for a new casino in East Windsor, Connecticut.

That new casino, which would jointly be run by the Mohegan and Mashantucket Pequot tribes, would be less than 20 miles away from MGM Springfield.

MGM is crying foul over the Interior Department's changing of an agreement between Connecticut and the tribes that is allowing the casino to happen, claiming, among other things, that the DOI acted beyond its authority.

Tribal officials have not commented yet.
