New Details Out Of Registry Controversy

A report is providing new details in the case of how West Springfield man Volodymyr Zhukovskyy kept his license at the time of a crash that killed multiple motorcyclists.

The report, release on Friday by the firm conducting an audit of the Registry of Motor Vehicles, indicates an RMV employee scanned Zhukovskyy's record for seven seconds on May 29th, noticed an out-of-state violation earlier in the month, closed the record and moved on with other work.

The state of Connecticut was notifying the registry about an operating under the influence charge which should have resulted in Zhukovskyy having his license taken away.

Less than a month later, Zhukovskyy was reportedly involved in the truck-versus-motorcycles accident in New Hampshire that killed seven.
