Judge Boyle Passes At The Age Of 62

Former Springfield District Court Judge William Boyle has died.

He was 62 and was battling ALS for years.

Boyle, who retired as a judge last year, was previously an assistant district attorney and the president of the Springfield City Council.

Ironically, Judge Boyle was appointed as a District Court Judge by Acting Governor Paul Cellucci who died of the same disease several years ago.

Judge Boyle was a Springfield City Councilor.

He beat at that time Mitch Ogulewicz.

The former councilor said "Bill defeated me in 1989, in my re-election bid to the City Council.

There was never any animosity. Bill was a kind and decent man, who served Springfield with honor and distinction.

My thoughts and prayers are with the Boyle family,"

Funeral Services are incomplete.
