Hefner Avoids Jail Time After Pleading Guilty

Bryon Hefner is pleading guilty in connection with the scandal that brought down his husband, former Senate President Stan Rosenberg. 

Hefner yesterday pleaded guilty to charges of indecent assault and battery, assault and battery and disseminating a nude photo. 

Hefner received a one year suspended jail sentence and three years probation, and he must register as a sex offender. 

Rosenberg, who had served the Hampshire, Franklin and Worcester Senate District since 1991, stepped down as president in December of 2017 and left the Senate last year over the Hefner scandal.

The former State Senator has not commented.

Hefner did not comment to reporters.
