A man was arrested after allegedly assaulting a state trooper in Springfield on Wednesday.
Authorities responded to reports of a disabled vehicle on I-91 northbound blocking part of the right travel lane and ramp to exit 3 at around 2 p.m.
After a tow truck was called, the vehicle operator, identified as Elijah Henderson of Bloomfield, Connecticut, reportedly began arguing with a state trooper and then committed the assault.
Henderson was eventually placed under arrest and the trooper was hospitalized with minor injuries, according to reports. Traffic was severely impacted in the area for about an hour.
