Celtics Off And Running With Opening Game Loss

Ben Simmons had 24 points, nine assists and eight boards as the 76ers beat the Celtics 107-93 in the season opener in Philadelphia.

Joel Embiid contributed 15 points and 13 rebounds, and Tobias Harrris had 15 points and 15 boards.

Josh Richardson went 9-for-9 from the line and finished with 17 points for the Sixers, who had all five starters score in double-figures.

Gordon Hayward led Boston with 25 points.

Jayson Tatum tallied 21 and 10 rebounds in the setback.

The Celtics have their opener Friday night against the Toronto Raptors.
