Trial Continues Into Troopers Death

The trial of a Webster man accused of driving while high and killing a state trooper in Charlton continues today.

David Njuguna is charged with manslaughter with a motor vehicle and other offenses in the death of Trooper Thomas Clardy.

In court yesterday, an off-duty New York police officer testified that he witnessed Njuguna's vehicle veer across three lanes of traffic.

He testified that the vehicle then drove around 100 yards in the breakdown lane before slamming into the back of Clardy's stopped cruiser.
