Colonel: Urges Troopers To Continue To Work Hard To Regain Trust

Colonel Kerry Gilpin is stepping down as head of the Massachusetts State Police next week.

Gilpin says being colonel has been the greatest honor of her professional life, but she wants to do other things.

Gilpin has dealt with a major scandal during her tenure over widespread overtime use.

The Colonel is urging rank and file troopers to continue to work hard in order to regain the public trust.

Gilpin's resignation takes effect November 15th, which is the same day she took over as head of the department two years ago.
