The subject of an Amber Alert issued after an apparent abduction in Springfield is safe.
Massachusetts State Police and Springfield authorities were searching for 11-year-old Charlotte Moccia after she was believed to have been forced into a car after getting off a school bus yesterday.
A motorist reportedly called 911 after seeing a car matching the Amber Alert description, and state police say Moccia was in a vehicle stopped by troopers on the Massachusetts Turnpike eastbound in the Auburn-Sturbridge area.
Details on the person arrested after yesterday's child abduction incident. Massachusetts State Police reported the arrest of Michael Rodriguez, of Springfield.
Authorities haven't said what charges he will face.
Published reports indicate that Rodriguez's family says he has a history of schizophrenia and paranoia, and they are apologizing to the girl and her family.
