Mayor Says He Will Veto Ban On Facial Recognition Software

The City Council in Springfield isn't taking action on facial recognition technology just yet.

The topic has been discussed for months and was debated further at a meeting on Monday, but a vote on a moratorium was continued to a later date.

Mayor Domenic Sarno promises he will veto such a ban. Opponents of the technology have concerns about its accuracy and how that might especially impact minorities.
