An appeal of a cease-and-desist order from the Granby Bow and Gun Club is being denied by the Zoning Board of Appeals.
The board voted 4-to-0 on Wednesday to deny the appeal of the order that says the club cannot have long-range shooting activities.
An attorney for the club says the gun club enjoys "grandfather" rights as it was established before the town enacted zoning regulations, but the board said the club undertook a substantial expansion of it shooting range without necessary approval.
The club is considering a lawsuit against the zoning board in addition to a pending Land Court lawsuit over the matter.
