Mass Transit Takes Precautions Against Covid 19

Transportation services in the Springfield area are addressing coronavirus concerns.

Pioneer Valley Transit Authority administrator Sandra Sheehan says cleaning has increased on buses and that notices are being put on the vehicles with information on how to minimize the spread.

An employee at Union Station in Springfield says cleaning activities are also being stepped up there.

The MBTA is going to disinfect subway and commuter rail stations every four hours to reduce the threat from coronavirus.

Trains, buses and other agency vehicles will also be disinfected. Additionally, hand sanitizer equipment will be installed in MBTA facilities.
