Amherst is holding a hearing focusing on parking restrictions tonight.
The hearing will specifically deal with a proposal to ban on-street parking on part of Lincoln Avenue weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Residents called for parking restrictions earlier this year for the busy street that connects downtown to the University of Massachusetts, citing public safety concerns.
The hearing at Town Hall is scheduled to begin at 6:30 tonight.
