Doctor: "We Are Taking Precautions Seriously"

Currently there are 123 cases of Covid 19 in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Most of the cases are directly connected to a Biogen Conference in Boston last month. However, a concern now in Springfield where the Doctor Mark Keroack, President of Baystate Health says there are as many as 20 patients who are currently being treated in isolation for symptons of the Covid 19 virus. They have NOT been diagnosed with the virus at this time. The doctor says the patients, are showing signs of severe flu or a viral pneumonia. The doctor says that they are taking seriously all of the advice on protection.

Staff at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield is being directly affected by the threat of the coronavirus. An undisclosed number of staff are reportedly under self-quarantine after having contact with an infected patient. The Berkshire Edge reports a spokesman declined to say when the affected staff might return or how many patients have tested positive for COVID-19.

Nurses now concerned about a lack of protective clothing in Emergency Rooms.

There are no confirmed cases of the virus in Springfield.
