Shoppers To See Screens At Supermarkets

Big Y is installing clear plastic shields at its checkout counters, joining other New England grocery stores aiming to protect workers from the coronavirus.

Big Y says the shields are going up at 17 locations in Massachusetts and Connecticut.

Meantime, Governor Baker says shopping at stores is going to change a little.

Reusable Bag use has now been ended. Stores may use plastic bags or paper and they may not charge for it.

Stores will give seniors a specific one hour period everyday to do their shopping.

The Stores must end their "Self Serve" counters and must place markings on the floor to insure that social distancing is in place.
