Springfield Mayor Dom Sarno is threatening to barricade the Springfield Golf Courses or other recreational facilities if people continue to use them.
The mayor angered by more than 60 golfers using one of the city golf courses despite the ban on its use.
During a briefing with reporters Sarno said, “get it through your thick heads,” that the rules have to be adhered to for the safety of all residents.
Springfield and other cities throughout the state, including Boston have had issues with kids playing basketball, tennis and other sports during the recommended six foot distance during the Covid 19 virus.
Those distancing requirements will be in effect through the end of April.
