Micro And Small Businesses Targeted For State Relief Package

Springfield State Rep Carlos Gonzalez says that the federal stimulus packages have failed to meet the real needs of small and micro businesses in the state.

So the Springfield Democrat is filing a measure designed to provide state grants to businesses that generate less than 200 thousand dollars or who have 5 employees or less, that can demonstrate credible losses that are caused by the Covid 19 crisis.

Gonzalez says " Micro-businesses are the backbone of inner-city and downtown business districts and employ a substantial amount of our local residents. Thus, it is essential to have the appropriate financial response to deter any hardships, losses of revenue, closings and any further unemployment in our most vulnerable communities”.

Now the measure has just been filed. There is no word on when it will come up for a hearing.
