Governor Charlie Baker says restarting the Massachusetts economy after the coronavirus pandemic will be a halting process.
Baker says the slow reopening of sectors of the economy will continue well after May 18th.
That's the day Baker's order requiring the closure of all non-essential businesses is set to expire.
The governor says testing must be increased, and the threat of virus transmission will not be going away in the near future.
Meantime, Dr Mark Keroac at Baystate Medical Center is part of the task force looking at how to open the economy. He won't talk specifics yet.
But he does say that there is plenty of progress that is being made. It is all data driven. And he says they are looking at day care and mass transit and how it will determine the pattern of the reopening.
The Doctor would not answer specific questions pertaining to the reopening at the request of government officials.
