Outdoor Dining Now Available Across The State

Sit down dining has made its return to Massachusetts after being shut down for over two months by coronavirus.

Allowing outdoor dining is part of phase two of the restarting of the Massachusetts economy that began yesterday.

Restaurants across the state that are deciding to open have set up improvised patios and tented areas.

Customers must wear masks when not seated, and tables must be spaced so social distancing can occur.

About a third of the restaurants in Massachusetts did reopen. One in Springfield did not.

Nadim Kashouh in Main Street in Springfield did not open because of a missing permit. That permit was not released until the weekend.

It called for a layout of the setup outside for serving.

The facility is expected to open today.
