Tent City For Covid Cases In Springfield Closing

A tented triage site for testing the homeless in Springfield is being closed this week.

The city health commissioner Helen Caulton-Harris says the three-tent site on Worthington Street will remain standing until the end of July in case it is needed; however, it is ceasing operations on Saturday.

The site was built for a possible surge in coronavirus cases in the city's homeless population, but officials say that was avoided.
