We are keeping an eye on teachers this week.
Hundreds of teachers throughout the state have been receiving pink slips from more than 4 dozen school districts around the state. Many more are expected to receive slips this week as well.
Monday is the deadline to notify teachers with three years of experience of less whether their contracts will be renewed.
The Mass Teachers Association is expected to begin a week long caravan across the state in order to protest the layoffs.
The head of the Teachers Union, Merrie Najimy says that “student lives and education have been turned upside down.” Teachers want education fully funded.
