Students Call For Quebec Team To Leave Schools

Student protesters in Springfield called for the removal of police officers in city public schools on Saturday.

Two members of the Springfield Police Department's "Quebec Unit" have been charged with assault for use-of-force incidents involving students in Springfield schools over the last two years, including one at the Springfield High School of Commerce, where Saturday's protest took place.

Students called for the funding for the school resource officer program to be spent elsewhere in the school district.

Springfield Mayor Dom Sarno could address that issue tonight during a round table discussion on the issue tonight.
