Hampden County Sheriff Nick Cocchi wants the authority to put GPS-tracking devices on inmates who are released early over COVID-19 concerns.
Cocchi opposes the early releases for inmates deemed to be public safety threats.
Cocchi is asking for permission to be granted on this request by the state's trial court.
The Courts have not ruled on the issue yet.
