A Springfield man who was arrested for allegedly assaulting the owner of a Provincetown business over the weekend was arraigned in Orleans District Court on Monday.
Angel Gomez allegedly struck the owner of George's Pizza on Saturday night after an apparent dispute over wearing face-coverings.
The owner, 81-year-old George Kraniotakis, reportedly refused medical treatment.
Provincetown Town Manager Robin Craver called Kraniotakis a respected member of the community and said the alleged assault was a reprehensible act of violence.
Gomez is being held because he was already on probation out of Springfield.
He will be back in court August 4th.
