Phase Three Underway In The Baystate

Today marks the arrival of phase three of the reopening of the Massachusetts economy in everywhere the state but Boston. Phase three allows casinos, gyms and theaters to reopen for the first time since the pandemic began in March. Businesses that reopen will be subject to strict new health regulations, including capacity limits and mask requirements.

Boston will not enter phase three until July 13th.

Weddings will be done for the first time in months. But they will be smaller. And, officials say that there there will be no buffets or standing at the bar....or dancing.

As the state moves to Phase 3 of re-opening today, more places in Springfield are welcoming back visitors soon. The renovated Basketball Hall of Fame will re-open on Wednesday. Springfield Museums will be open to members-only later this week and to the general public on July 13th. That's the same date MGM Springfield is opening to gamblers.

Military committal services resumed at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Agawam on Friday. The services were stopped when the coronavirus pandemic arrived in March. The ceremonies will now have health and safety restrictions, such as limiting services to ten family member or fewer.
