The University of Massachusetts is reacting to the news that international students may have to leave the U.S. if their institutions offer online-only courses during the coronavirus pandemic.
That came from Immigration and Customs Enforcement on Monday.
UMass President Marty Meehan calls the guidance cruel and counter-productive.
Meehan says more than seven-thousand of the UMass system's 75-thousand students are international and worries many of them could be impacted.
