Bus Driver Accused Of Attack Held Without Bail

A Franklin County Regional Transit bus driver who allegedly tried to crash a bus into several black passengers who had just disembarked in Greenfield is being held without bail.

Steven Connell of Gill, who is white, had a dangerousness hearing on Wednesday. He faces charges including assault with intent to murder and a civil rights violation for the alleged incident last month.

Connell reportedly told authorities the reason for the alleged attack was that he thought the passengers, a man and his two sons, had a gun, but police said they were unarmed.
