The state is reporting the first positive tests of mosquitoes for West Nile virus for the season.
Mosquitoes trapped in Belmont on July seventh have tested positive for West Nile.
There have been no human cases of West Nile reported so far this summer, although it is early in the mosquito season.
There were five human cases in Massachusetts last year.
