Casino Reopens After Months Without A Bet

MGM Springfield is re-opening its casino today after months of being closed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

City Solicitor Ed Pikula says MGM approached the city about renegotiating its host community agreement to reduce or delay payments in March.

Pikula says talks are on hold until both sides see how MGM Springfield bounces back after re-opening.

Meantime, at the casino itself, there will be fewer slots machines, no table games, you will have to wear a mask as well.

And officials say that if you fail to comply with any of the requests, you will be asked to leave.
