The Eastfield Mall in Springfield is suing the Cinemark movie theater chain for an unexpected -- and apparently destructive -- departure.
According to a lawsuit filed in Springfield Federal Court, Texas-based Cinemark broke a twenty-year lease, owed over 177-thousand dollars in back rent, and destroyed sixteen theaters and concession stands as they left the mall.
The departure happened in June.
No comment from any of the parties involved. No dates have been scheduled for hearings yet.
