Man Sought For Giving "Covid19 Hug"

A disturbing story overnight out of Springfield where a man. who was wearing a mask allegedly went up to people at the Walgreens on Boston Road and hugged them.

Then he told the people that they were just given Coviid19.

Police spokesman Ryan Walsh says that if caught and convicted the man could be tried on a variety of charges including Assault and Battery among other things.

Walsh says that one of the people hugged was a cancer survivor. Cancer Survivors are in a higher risk group so that person was given a test. No word on the outcome of that test yet.
