Springfield Police say a motorcyclist in his 30s was killed early this morning in an accident on Sumner Avenue, near Castle Street.
Police say that a driver was backing out of his driveway right before the midnight when the car was struck by the motorcyclist.
The operator was taken to Baystate Medical Center where he was pronounced dead early this morning.
Police have not issued any charges and say that the accident remains under investigation.
They are expected to provide additional information later today.
