Voters Deciding Future Of Power

Today is primary day in Massachusetts. The focus in Western Mass will be the First Congressional District Democratic race between incumbent Richard Neal and challenger Alex Morse, the mayor of Holyoke. There is no Republican primary. Neal has been serving the area in Congress for over thirty years.

The other main event is Congressman Joe Kennedy challenging fellow Democrat Ed Markey for his seat in the U.S. Senate. Kennedy and Markey have spent the last few days seeking out support from people who have not yet cast an absentee ballot. That group has been getting smaller, as state officials say 768 thousand Democratic absentee ballots had been submitted as of yesterday.

There in a State Senate Race in Springfield and West Springfield as well as State Rep races in Holyoke and Springfield as well.

The Polls close tonight at 8pm.
