Patriots Set To Play Broncos Sunday After Second Covid Case

The Patriots canceled practice yesterday and today after cornerback Stephon Gilmore tested positive for the coronavirus. Gilmore revealed his status on Twitter, saying he's asymptomatic. Quarterback Cam Newton tested positive last week, but hopes to return soon.

Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is calling Monday's post-game hug with Patriots cornerback Stephon Gilmore a mental lapse. Gilmore has since tested positive for the coronavirus. ESPN reports the Chiefs' tests all came back negative yesterday morning.

Meantime, the Patriots have a home game Sunday against the Broncos. It's a late afternoon game, with kickoff at Gillette Stadium at 4:25 p.m. The Patriots are 2-and-2 on the season, with both wins at home against the Dolphins and Raiders. Denver comes in 1-and-3.
