This is the Veteran’s Day Holiday - but except for State, Federal and City offices closed, most businesses are open. The stores are open. No bank business. No Mail. No school. Various communities are having pandemic protocol events.
Meantime, on the eve of Veterans Day The Holyoke Soldiers' Home board approved the hiring of a talent acquisition firm to search for a new superintendent on Tuesday.
Previous superintendent Bennett Walsh was let go and faces criminal charges after the deadly coronavirus outbreak at the facility earlier this year. Interim superintendent Val Liptak will depart from the role next month.
