Springfield Pauses To Honor Fallen Officers

Springfield Police honor officers killed in the line of duty.

Springfield Police Commissioner honoring Officers Michael Schiavina and Alan Bearegard who were killed during what was a routine traffic stop 35 years ago.

During the “Blue Light” Ceremony Police Commissioner Cheryl Claprood said there is never a day that she stops thinking about that day 35 years ago when the Officers were killed.Claprood said: “we express our appreciation to the police officers during these trying times that they return home safely from all of their sifts and return home to their families and loved ones.

”Overnight, the Sheraton Springfield and Monarch Tower honored the fallen officers by lighting the top of the structure in blue.
