A limited number of jury trials will be getting underway this week in Massachusetts.
The trials will be held for the first time in months in a limited number of courthouses across the state, with juries limited to six people.
Comprehensive protocols will be in place to protect the health and safety of jurors and others involved in the process.
The only trials will be held in courthouses and courtrooms that have suitable facilities for operating during the pandemic.
It is unclear how much of the backlog will be able to be dealt with with the resumption of trials.
