Westover Member Dies In Training Mission

Westover Air Reserve Base is announcing the death of a U.S. Air Force Reserve member.

Master Sergeant Scott Blais, a flight engineer, died suddenly during a regularly-scheduled training mission in Hawaii over the weekend.

Officials say he died of natural causes.

Westover commander Craig Peters said Blais, who was from East Longmeadow, was an invaluable member of the Patriot Wing for more than 16 years.

Funeral arrangements are pending.
