Friendly's Restaurant co-founder S. Prestley Blake has died.
He was 106 years old.
His brother and fellow Friendly's co-founder Curtis died two years ago at the age of 102.
The Blakes opened up the first of their stores during the height of the depression. Mr Blake would say the name of the company came from the fact that they wanted to give a person "a friendly" spot to have a meal.
After a number of restaurant closures, Friendly's declared bankruptcy in 2020.
A sale to an investor group was finalized last month.
