People over the age of 65 and those with two qualifying medical conditions become eligible for the coronavirus vaccine today.
The expansion makes the vaccine available to over a million new people in Massachusetts.
Also becoming eligible for the vaccine today are employees of senior housing who were not qualified earlier.
Over 850 thousand people have received the first dose of the vaccine in the state.
Meantime, not everyone is thrilled with the direction the state is going in the distribution process.
State Senator Sonia Chang Diaz is part of a coalition of state lawmakers that is calling for a Vaccination Czar to oversee the process.
The Senator says little is being done to target hotspot communities and those that are made up of poorer residents with transportation issues.
The Governor concedes that the state has been slow to rollout the program because the state was targeting high risk individuals from the beginning.
