Heat Wave Continues-With Hope Just Ahead

Another day of scorching heat is expected in Boston and across Massachusetts today. The National Weather Service indicates that a heat advisory will be in effect throughout the listening area until at least tomorrow night.

All of Western Massachusetts is under a Heat Advisory from the National Weather Service today. The forecast calls for heat index values up to 103 degrees in Eastern Hampden, Hampshire and Franklin counties.

The heat index might not reach triple digits in the western part of those counties or in Berkshire County, but the weather service says it will come close.

Temperatures in Boston will likely reach 97 degrees today, with the heat index making it feel like 102 degrees. Springfield will see the same.

Relief is not expected until Thursday, when high temperatures are only expected to be around 75.
